July 9th, 2009

If you are really looking for the best car polish look no further, I came across one of the best polishes I have ever used its called Turtle Wax Protective Extra Gloss

could this best the best ever car polish

could this be the best ever car polish

To me the best car polish needs to fullfill a list of things and I am not prepared to settle on any of them when it comes to my car.

The best car polish should go on easy
Not leave that horrible chalky residue
Do not have to perform a marathon to get a nice finish
Must leave a finish that will last
Must not cost the earth
And of course must leave a superb finish

After using Turtle Wax Protective Extra Gloss from their platinum range i really fits all this criteria and in my oppinion for the price its the best polish I have ever used.

off to polish the motor now

cleaning my car with carnauba wax

July 2nd, 2009

I’ve tried a whole range of products to polish my car, and a i mean a whole range, and i’d have to agree with your other article Carnauba wax is an excellent car polish, the only downside i’ve experienced is how hard it can be.

If you live in a warm country it melts easily and does not require arms of Arnie to apply the stuff, but if you live in colder climates such as the UK then you really need something that still contains Carnauba Wax, but it must be mixed with something else, the problem here arises when companies advertise adding Carnauba wax, but some only seem to add a thimble of the stuff which leaves a poor finish compared to the full stuff.

So having tried lots of these products one i’ve found to work very well is Meguiars Step 3 Carnauba Wax Paint Protection, goes on well and gives a great shine, and another thing is the price which is around £8

Carnauba Wax Polish

June 4th, 2009

Carnauba wax comes from the Carnauba palm tree in Northern Brasil, the wax itself is removed from the surface of the trees leaves.

Carnauba wax makes a great car polish for a number of reasons.

  • It is one of the hardest natural waxes around which means a long lasting, durable and glossy shine.
  • It works very well in disguising tiny scratches or swirl marks
  • It gives a glossy shine looking similar to wet paintwork so the polished results can be excellent.

Carnauba wax polish comes in a solid or liquid wax form, personally I prefer the solid wax, but it does require a little more elbow grease to create the friction to get the wax to melt sufficiently to be able to apply well.

Checkout Autosports Yellow Carnauba Wax

I consider this to be as good all round in terms of a long lasting glossy finish as much more expensive speciality waxes, but without the expense.

It is made with the using the highest grade yellow Carnauba wax polish, other beneficial ingredients are then added to this to crate a softer wax paste that is easier to apply giving great long lasting shine and protection.

Autosport Carnauba wax contains no cleaners or abrasives which can damage paintwork, and unlike many other waxes it also contains no chalky or clay fillers which mean you do not have to worry about getting it on rubber or plastic trim and leaving chalky marks.

Tip

For best results if you have been using other wax for any period of time, its worth preparing the surface using a pre-wax cleaner to remove old wax and polish residue before waxing.

Which car polisher works for you and your vehicle?

May 28th, 2009

Which car polisher is right for you and your vehicle? Here at www.car-polisher.com we test and report on various car polishers and polishing methods.

We generally see two types of car polishing equipment around.

Circular electric car polishers and machine buffers

Which Electric Car Polisher

Which Electric Car Polisher

How expensive are they?

A bottom end car polisher may only cost around $30, but using a cheap one could be false economy, after all one of the biggest nightmares when using electric polishers is the dreaded swirl marks.

Many manufactures of electrical polishers now offer models that simulate the polishing motion of the human hand only at a much higher polishing rate.

But how easy are they to use?

An electric car polisher is probably not something you would buy and use for the first time on your pride and joy, they are not difficult to use, but they do take a little practise to get used to and get the most from.

Whats' better?

Whats' better?

Do they give a better finish than cloths?

Yes and No, a lot of this comes down to the polish that you are using, cheap and older types of waxes do require a lot of elbow grease to get a good finish so in this respect an electric polisher would be a good choice, but later polishes allow for a very good finish will much less effort.

Are they faster than cloths?

Over larger panels It is easier to get a better finish with less effort making it quicker, but when it comes to smaller areas this will still need to be manually polished.

Polishing Cloths

How long should it take to polish a car?

A mid sized car can be polished pretty well in around 30 minutes, but again this depends on the vehicles actual size and the type of polish being used.

Can I re-use cloths?

Yes cloths can be re-used I usually have a bucket of them, when they get dirty I just wash then a lot at a time, I use a washing powder with a softener as otherwise it makes the cloths feel pretty rough, decent cloths last a long time if washed and looked after properly.

What is the best way to polish with a cloth?

Light circular motions until you cover a complete panel (remember to only polish lightly, polishing too hard can result in swirl marks and larger scratches.
